Ms. Bucci, a Federal IT architect, brings a deep expertise in regulatory and technical understanding of data and privacy to her new role.
New York, NY, March 16, 2020—ConsenSys Health announced that Debbie Bucci will be its Director, Patient-Mediated and Institutional Data Exchange. In her new role, Ms. Bucci will focus on the standards and technologies enabling patients and consumers to securely control and manage access to their data in a privacy preserving way.
“As a former federal IT architect with a focus on networks, privacy and security, Debbie brings with her a regulatory and technical understanding of core systems, data and services in Health IT and Life Sciences that serve to implement policies and provide service for providers, patients and researchers in the U.S. market,” said Heather Leigh Flannery, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ConsenSys Health.
Ms. Bucci was a lead IT Architect for the U.S. Government, working in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC). Ms. Bucci’s primary focus is on the privacy and security aspects of Health Information Exchange.
“I believe this is the right move, as it’s exciting to be on the ground floor of a company dedicated to bringing Web3 open standards innovations to the global healthcare market,” Ms. Bucci said.
Previously, Ms. Bucci served as the principal program manager for both the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Federated Identity Service and the enterprise Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) efforts. In 2008, along with her colleagues, she received the 2008 NIH Director’s Award in recognition of her work with NIH Federated Authentication, as well as the 2008 Information Week 500 top 20 Innovators awards. In addition, in 2011, she and her team won the Kantara IDDY (Identity Deployment of the Year) Award for NIH Trust.
Ms. Bucci holds a BS in Information Systems from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
